Andre B. Gvozden, M.D.
Dr. Gvozden is a board certified pediatrician and
fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
He has been in practice for over 30 years. He
moved from Brazil in 1978. His Pediatric training
occurred at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Sinai Hospital. He has additional expertise in Dermatology
and Attention Disorders. He is currently on staff at
Anne Arundel Medical Center. He is an associate
professor of Pediatrics at the University of
Maryland, and is on staff at the Johns Hopkins Hospital
Cathy Gvozden, CRNP
Cathy has been practicing as a Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner for over 25 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and Masters in Pediatric Primary Care from the University of Maryland. Her training was at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She has extensive experience in Pediatric intensive care.
She and Dr. Gvozden live in Millersville and have four
Monica L. Hughes, CRNP
Monica joined Gvozden Pediatrics in January 2001. She has been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Annapolis area for over 25 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master’s in Pediatric Primary
Care both from Boston University. Her training was
at The Children’s Hospital in Boston. She has many years experience in pediatric neurology and adolescent care. She lives in Severna Park with her husband and has two children.

Catherine Snead, CRNP
Catherine joined Gvozden Pediatrics in 1998 as a Registered Nurse in charge of phone advice and triage. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and obtained her Master's degree in Primary Care in 2010 from the University of Maryland. Catherine has extensive experience at Gvozden Pediatrics and her knowledge of our patients is a great asset to the practice. Catherine lives in Pasadena with her husband and has three children.
WHAT IS A PEDIATRIC NURSE
A pediatric nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science degree, extensive acute care
experience and a Master’s degree in nursing. It is a position that is licensed and registered by the state in order to provide independent care to sick and well
children. Although under a physician’s supervision,
nurse practitioners are capable and expected to deliver the same quality care as a pediatrician.

phone triage and advice. Our small staff works closely
with the providers throughout the day in order to provide expert advice on Illness, emergencies and behavior.
